Thanksgiving

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father”

Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays for the food and the time with family, but as of late is has taken on a whole new meaning.

In one of my favorite parts of the house church meetings I’ve been going to, we share the good things in our lives that have happened in the past week.  After someone has shared something, we say “Thanks be to God”. The reason for this is a bit deeper than I realized at first. In essence we are acknowledging that the good things in our lives are from God. And for me, taking time out to notice all of the good things that God is doing in my life, as well as in the lives of those around me, just sets my heart in a posture of praise and thanksgiving. It focuses my heart towards God, and sets my eyes on the things above. . . . I highly recommend it.

That being said . . I am so thankful for my family who loves me and supports me during this crazy journey I’m on. And, I’m thankful for the people God has put in my life, some for reasons larger than I would ever have guessed, to keep me in check, keep my head up, and to remind me of who I am in Christ.

Thanks be to God.

P.S. I love you Grandaddy! I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve blogged, I miss you terribly, and I can’t wait til I can see you at Christmas!

You are blessed! I like the way that ya’ll acknowledge God for the good things He had done. It really makes it more tangible that you love Him and what He is doing in your life.
